Premium quality requires top-of-the-line raw materials: North German raised bog peat, with its excellent structural stability and its outstanding air and water retention capacity, is the basis for our selected substrates and provides the ideal conditions for successful crop cultivation. To take full advantage of its unique properties, this peat is extracted in a special peat sod digging process and is subsequently carefully treated using the most modern technologies. The result: A unique premium class raw material.
In so doing, we provide the best conditions for commercial horticulture from the start. Our substrates maintain their consistency even under the most extreme irrigation and climate conditions, providing excellent oxygenation of the plants' roots. Five fractions of white peat and two fractions of black peat sod provide the basis for further soil conditioning and build the ideal basis for reliable and sustainable product quality.
Since introducing its own brand in 1999, Gramoflor has been steadily committed to preserving local raw materials resources in North Germany. Glamofor has thus gradually acquired its own peat reserves in local proximity to the company's production sites. Today, Gramoflor is one of the few substrate manufacturers in Germany which controls all of its production processes, from extraction of local white peat sod in North Germany, to its subsequent treatment, conditioning, and finally, its distribution and marketing with expert support services. This integrated system enables us to continually ensure homogenous substrate quality, guaranteeing the utmost in crop safety. Our proprietary peat extraction sites, located near our production centre in North Germany, help save unnecessarily long transport routes between the extraction and production sites and guarantee long-term supply assurance.
